Watermelon Sugar Frosé

Anyone else have the song “Watermelon Sugar” by Harry Styles always stuck in their head? Well now you will also be thinking about this Watermelon Sugar Frosé whenever you hear that song!

This is the perfect summer drink to beat the summer heat! It is made with your favourite Rosé wine, watermelon, and you guessed it…sugar! This drink is perfectly refreshing, and the use of a Rosé instead of hard liquor makes it nice and smooth. Perfect for any fruit lover! And if you want to make a kid-version of this Frosé, just substitute the rosé wine with lemonade or carbonated water.

Tip One: When you freeze your watermelon, freeze them in batches spaced out. That way you won’t get one giant clump of frozen watermelon, making it easier to scoop them out and re-freeze the leftovers! I like to freeze mine with layers or parchment paper in-between, see below for example.

Also if cutting up a watermelon is too much effort for you, check your grocery store for some pre-cut watermelon. Easy!

Tip Two: If you don’t have the patience to make simple syrup on the stove top, just microwave it. Just use a microwave safe container, and microwave your sugar and water for 30 second intervals, stirring each time in-between until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Tip Three: If you want to get fancy and step up your Frosé game, make a sugar rim! Simply dip your glass rim in the simple syrup, then dip it on a plate full of sugar to coat the rim. Sooo fancy! Or I mean just pour it in a red solo cup, no judgement here.
