Tangy Lemon Salad Dressing

I’m going to be honest here, I am not a huge fan of salads. My whole family knows this, there just is nothing that get’s me excited about them. I find store bought dressing to be bland, full of unhealthy ingredients, and nothing special. That is until I started making my own salad dressings! I never realized how easy it is, and how full of flavour simple ingredients can make lettuce taste amazing. By making my own dressing, I know what ingredients are in it, and that is healthy ingredients that are packed full of flavour.

This tangy lemon salad dressing is the perfect compliment to any salad. It is light fresh, and simple to make. It is my absolute favourite, and that’s because it has a secret kick to it. And that kick is red pepper flakes! This salad dressing is anything but blah, and will make you become a salad lover, okay well maybe a lover of one salad and it will be this one.

Also the best thing about this dressing, is it can be whipped up in less than 5 minutes! Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

That being said there are some tips to making this the best possible dressing you can.

Tip One: Do not skip the lemon zest! I know it’s annoying to have to “zest” a lemon for this, but it truly adds the flavour! If you do not have a hand held zester, just use a cheese grater!

Tip Two: Use a good extra-virgin olive oil. This is going to be a main ingredient in this dressing, don’t skimp out! Plus if you are just learning how to cook, buy a large bottle of olive oil. It bring so much flavour to your dishes and is a staple in the kitchen.

Alright you ready to make the most simple, but most flavourful salad dressing? I think so too!
